We begin by raising a robust herd of red deer in the rolling hills of beautiful New Zealand. Because we are highly selective, we do not buy from a collective like most manufacturers. We get our deer antler velvet directly from our farms, at precisely the right time, when the nutritional content is at its peak.
We use only the high yielding segments - the tips, upper and middle sections - in our deer antler velvet product.
The tips, upper and middle sections of antler are rich in lipids and protein. These segments are highly valued for their high concentration of active ingredients. We use the tips, upper and middle sections of antler exclusively in our deer antler velvet capsules.
The base and bottom sections of deer antler velvet are less effective, deficient segments. When used, they dilute the nutritional density, and thus the effectiveness, of the product. We never use the base and bottom sections in our product.
We practice great care during processing to ensure that our deer antler velvet is of the highest possible quality.
Our techniques are more labor intensive, more time consuming and more expensive than conventional methods, but the result is a premium deer antler velvet that is vastly superior to any other product on the market.
Upon collection, deer velvet is tagged to allow for accurate identification and origin. The outer layer of skin is stripped by using dry ice and a scraping tool. The antler is then sterilized in an alcohol and water solution to eliminate any bacteria. Our deer velvet is freeze dried using a clinical, hygienic process. Using this technology, protein and lipid structures do not break down resulting in a more efficacious product. This ensures that the potency of the ingredients are maintained.
Then, our deer antler velvet is ground into a powder. Chemical analysis is performed on the powder to ensure that our high quality standards are met or exceeded. Finally, the powder is carefully packed into gelatin capsules. The deer antler velvet is packaged for sale and stored in our temperature and humidity controlled warehouse until shipment.
Antler Farms® deer antler velvet is freeze dried. Our deer antler velvet is never heated during processing, so the active ingredients are never compromised.
It is well known that heat degrades the active ingredients in deer antler velvet. However, manufacturers of low grade deer antler velvet burn off the hairy epidermis because it’s less labor-intensive, and then use heat assisted techniques to dry the deer velvet. Some widely-used grinding methods also produce heat. Though these procedures are less expensive methods of processing of deer antler velvet, the heat can reduce or completely destroy the desired beneficial properties of antler velvet.

Each bottle of Antler Farms® deer antler velvet contains 180 capsules. Each capsule contains 500 mg of premium deer antler velvet powder.
WHAT DO OUR COMPETITORS MAKE THEIR PRODUCTS FROM?
The base and bottom segments of antlers are the most widely used in deer velvet supplements. These parts contain significantly less cartilaginous tissue, which results in a less active and less effective product. The bottom segments are the most commonly available, comprising up to 50% of each antler stick, and are far less expensive. They are sold on the open market at a fraction of the price of the tips, upper and middle sections.
Many low grade deer antler velvet manufacturers use only the bases and bottoms in their products. If a producer does not mention what part of the antler their product comes from, it is a safe bet to assume it was made mostly or completely from deer antler velvet bases and bottoms. In other words, our competitors make their products entirely from the parts we discard.Furthermore, other companies process their deer antler velvet with heat - to sterilize it, to remove the outer layer of skin, to dry the velvet, and to grind it into a powder.
